ILC Machine Activities
DESY takes a leading role in the development of the superconducting RF for the ILC. The main activity in this respect is the development and construction of the European XFEL. In addition DESY is a member of the TESLA Technology Collaboration which commits itself to advance SRF technology research and development and related accelerator aspects across the broad diversity of scientific applications. DESY leads the Joint Research Activity SRF within the Integrated Infrastructure Initiative CARE and participates in the CARE network ELAN.
DESY coordinates the European Design Study EUROTeV which addresses some of the high ranking issues identified by the Technical Review Committee with the aim of delivering significant input to the ILC Conceptual Design Report (CDR) and thereafter the ILC Technical Design Report TDR. DESY participates in the following scientific work packjages of EUROTeV: Damping Rings (DR), Polarised Positron Source (PPS), Diagnostics (DIAG), Integrated Luminosity Performance Studies (ILPS), Metrology and Stabilisation (METSTB) and the Global Accelerator Network Multipurpose Virtual Laboratory (GANMVL).
