The International Linear Collider Project Team at DESY
Particle physicists around the world have reached the conclusion that a linear collider, which brings electrons and positrons into collisions at energies up to 1 TeV should be the next big particle physics facility in the world. They have joined forces to plan and construct this facility as a truly worldwide effort.
On the 20th August 2004, the International Technology Recommendation Panel (ITRP) recommended that the International Linear Collider (ILC) should be based on the 1.3 GHz superconducting RF technology developed by the TESLA Collaboration over the last decade. This recommendation has been endorsed by the International Committee for Future Accelerators, ICFA. Laboratories and research groups around the world are now committed to the ILC as their next big project.
The ILC@DESY Project Group is responsible for coordinating the contributions from DESY to the International Linear Collide effort.
